The first of many animations for Penn GSE was to show the results of a recent study from one of their faculty on trends in the teacher workforce. Teacher shortages were an issue even prior to the pandemic, but the reasons and statistics were not always included in media reports. Using recently developed brand colors and standards, the University wanted to help maintain their consistent position as the best university for education in the U.S.

Firespring had recently merged their nonprofit SaaS and webite services with a full-service printing empire, and brought in additional marketing strategists. They needed a video to show off this new version of the company in a quick, simple yet fun animation.
Tobacco Free Nebraska
“The Aerosol Problem”
While smoking among young people is down in recent years, vaping and other aerosol products has skyrocketed. Tobacco Free Nebraska wanted to make sure people understood vaping is not a “safe” alternative, and comes with its own set of risks. They consistently try to avoid scaremongering about the dangers, and instead take a friendly, straightforward approach.

“Mislead U”
This project was a tongue in cheek look at a recent study showing how many universities has misleading information regarding tuition costs on their websites. Under the direction of Dr. Laura Perna and with support from Lumina Foundation, this project examined the cost-related information that colleges and universities are providing on their websites. The study found important limitations in the information that is available on many institutional websites. Some universities are not in compliance with the federal law that requires colleges and universities to make available a net price calculator (NPC). Others are providing inaccurate and misleading information.

CPRE is a network of renowned researchers from universities and other institutions across the United States who study and publish on a range of topics relevant to education from early childhood to higher education at the local, state, and national level. They developed a set of tools and resources to help schools collect and analyze data, and needed a video series to explain each one.
